THE NEW SOLARISM - Record Release Show - presented by DRAN-Kollektiv(www.dran-musik.de) and Tanzcafé Ilse Erika.

The New Solarism has produced their 4th album - "The Kiss - music for an unperformed theater piece by Tomas Blum".

The music was initially composed and recorded during the first lockdown of 2020 - for an online theater project "The Kiss - in Theory and Practice" by Berlin author Tomas Blum, which was completely remote-controlled and in which every single part was performed alone in the artists' homes.

The crew managed to produce 6 out of 12 planned chapters... until the project was lost in the chaos of the pandemic...

In the summer of 2023, violinist and composer Izabela Kałduńska decided to also make an album version of this music - consisting of 10 original pieces named after the explored emotions that appeared in the plot. At the concert, fragments of the story of "The Kiss" will be read aloud by the author Tomas Blum himself.

The album will be released on all streaming platforms on March 28, 2025, 4 singles from the album since February 28 and the accompanying music video already on January 31!

The New Solarism is the solo project of Gdansk-born violinist Izabela Kałduńska. She started playing the violin at the age of 7 and has been inseparable from her instrument ever since.

During her long musical journey, she has gained experience as a soloist, chamber musician and member of numerous orchestral projects in the field of classical violin, but also in the areas of jazz violin, experimental music, free improvisation and contemporary classical music.

All these things blended together in her mind (and heart) into a rather solitary process of exploring the possibilities of a single violinist's sound. An emancipation of the small, squeaky violin through the use of effects, loops, noises, spoken words and even singing. The music Izabela creates for this project invites the listener on a dreamy and enigmatic journey that is both emotional and soothing.

So far, she has released her first solo album "Studies of Myself" (2021) under the title "The New Solarism" and a collaborative album "2020B" in which she "deconstructed" a Beethoven symphony commissioned by the Leipzig Philharmonic Orchestra. Her second solo album "Hibernaculum" was released in spring 2023. In 2024 their first movie soundtrack was released - together with the singer Walburga Walde they produced music for the biggest documentary about the Sorbs "Bei uns heisst sie Hanka".
