In the third exhibition of RUMPELSTIL at NIRGENDWO, the Berlin creative monster explores the realm that lies beyond the darkness. "THE REALM BEYOND THE DARKNESS | Der Bereich jenseits der Dunkelheit" presents surreal, abstract and black light-dynamic works - paintings and objects that transform depending on the light source and enter into a dialog with the space, the observation and the moment.

The works are usually created at night and unfold their full effect in the interplay of light, black light and darkness. The phase after the light has gone out - when the luminescent elements become visible - marks a central moment for Rumpelstil: an aesthetic and symbolic transition between the visible and the invisible.
Darkness here does not mean absence, but transformation: a state that opens up new perspectives, activates other senses and creates space for inner images. "In the darkness, every minimal source of light is like a glimmer of hope," says RUMPELSTIL - and invites you to look closely before judging.

The exhibition is open from 8.8. - 24.8.2025 from Wednesday to Sunday between 3 and 7 pm.

On Friday, 22.8. there will be an (almost) finissage with a concert by Cornelia Marschall (vocals) and Uwe Streibel (piano) at 8 pm.

In RUMPELSTIL's third solo exhibition at NIRGENDWO, the Berlin-based creative creature explores "THE REALM BEYOND THE DARKNESS" - a space that begins where light ends. The exhibition presents surreal, abstract, and blacklight-reactive works: paintings and objects that shift with each light source and enter into a dialog with the space, the viewer, and the moment.

Created primarily during nocturnal working hours, these pieces unfold their full effect in the interplay of light, blacklight, and darkness. For Rumpelstil, the brief phase after the lights go out-when phosphorescent elements begin to glow-is especially significant: a moment of aesthetic and symbolic transition between the visible and the unseen.
Here, darkness is not absence, but transformation: a state that opens new perspectives, sharpens other senses, and makes space for inner images. "In darkness, even the smallest light becomes a sign of hope," says RUMPELSTIL - an invitation to look more closely before rushing to judge.

The exhibition runs from August 8-24, 2025, open Wednesday to Sunday, 3-7 PM.

A (pre-)finissage will take place on Friday, August 22 at 8 PM, featuring a concert by Cornelia Marschall (vocals) and Uwe Streibel (piano).
