Martha, a war reporter suffering from cancer, asks her friend Ingrid to accompany her on a final journey. The journey takes her into the past and finally to a bungalow in the woods. Pedro Almodóvar's touching, tender melodrama, his 23rd film and his first in English, was the deserved winner of the Golden Lion in Venice. His typically rich primary colors have a wonderfully autumnal tone in this meditation on death, art and friendship. And Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore once again shine in the leading roles - presented by Filmfestival Cologne
