Genuine Celtic magic and Scottish joie de vivre - that's what the audience can experience when "THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE" - the original from Edinburgh - returns to the Wunderino Arena in Kiel on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers, all flown in directly from Scotland, will take the audience on a rousing, exciting and varied musical journey for an evening. This time, they are bringing along a best-of program with the best-known and most successful titles and arrangements of the last 10 years.
In front of a castle backdrop with towers and battlements - the imitation of a Scottish castle - the artists present ever new facets of Scottish culture. Just as the impressive sound of bagpipes and drums roared through the tiers and gripped the people in the stands, the next moment soulful ballads full of longing and vastness created an intoxicating silence.
The participating artists are among the best that Scotland has to offer. Most of the participants are regular performers at the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo. The bagpipers and drummers include many international competition winners and world champions on their instruments.
Even the combination of traditional bagpipe playing and modern rock music from Paul McCartney to Gary Moore is a success. Because when the guitarists turn up the volume with their electric guitars and the entire ensemble gradually joins in with their traditional instruments to Paul McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre", Dire Straits' "Going Home", Rod Stewart's "Sailing" or Simple Minds' "Belfast Child", for example, the goosebump feeling is guaranteed.
Finally, the drummers' regiment brings the Wunderino Arena to the boil with its "drum fireworks".
The cheerful and energetic Scottish dances exude esprit and an exuberant festive atmosphere. In ever-changing formations, magnificent costumes and costumes, the artists enter the scene and inspire each other with their tremendous joy in music and dance.
When one of Scotland's unofficial national anthems such as "Flower Of Scotland" or "Highland Cathedral" is played in the misty haze after an original canon salvo and the bagpipers and drummers in their uniforms parade through the aisles close to the audience, the real Highland air wafts through the stands!
