The exceptional band from Dublin is coming to Germany for four shows in November

The quartet from Ireland's capital city, The Scratch, was born out of a fan frenzy and combines their love of traditional Irish music and heavy metal in a unique sound. With acoustic guitars and percussion, The Scratch wind their way through spheres of Irish folk, heavy metal, punk and progressive rock, which on tracks such as "Another Round","Cheeky Bastard" and "Old Dog" encourages exuberant partying with a typically Irish attitude. Their debut album "Couldn't Give a Rats" reached number 9 in the Irish album charts in 2020, where the band further cemented their status with sold-out headline shows. Their unique take on the often dusty Irish rock sound has long since made its way from Ireland across the UK to North America and Europe, where the band have opened for the Dropkick Murphys. In November 2025, The Scratch will be playing their driving music on their headline tour in Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne. Euphoria and escalation in the pit are pre-programmed.

The Scratch formed in 2016 in the Dublin suburb of Perrystown from Conor "Dock" Dockery (guitar & backing vocals), Cathal McKenna (bass & backing vocals), Daniel "Lango" Lang (cajón, percussion & vocals), who previously played in the heavy metal band Red Enemy, and Jordan "Jordo" O'Leary (guitar & vocals). After the band first attracted major attention with a viral video of a street gig outside the Rory Gallagher International Festival in 2017, the band's first EP "Old Songs" was released in 2018, followed by the EP "The Whole Buzz" in 2019. With their debut album "Couldn't Give a Rats", The Scratch continued to draw attention to their sound. Their second album "Mind Yourself" was released in 2023, was described by Distorted Sound Mag as "one of the best releases of the year" and was nominated for a Choice Music Prize. Influences from post-rock ("Banshee"), nu-metal ("Blaggard"), prog ("Cheeky Bastard") and the balladic singer-songwriter genre ("Shoes") undoubtedly reveal that the band does not allow itself any genre boundaries. In February 2024, The Scratch released their latest single "Sally MacLannane", which adds a doomy post-rock component to the band's sound with a dark approach.
