"In Shaolin, there is a style that belongs to the past and which is now mastered by one man in our entire country" - with this quote from an anachronistic kung fu film, Megaloh introduces his new album "Schwarzer Lotus", which will be released in October 2025.

Although Megaloh's martial art is not a physical one, his punches have been blasting like machine gun fire for over two decades. The Moabite with Nigerian-German-Dutch roots is a verbal assassin with a flawless reputation - a true MC. He has repeatedly raised the German rap scene to a new level and at the same time relentlessly dismantled it. He has always openly addressed his conflicts with the music industry - because he has a strong attitude, seeks meaning, is honest - and was therefore never a suitable pop star.

"Schwarzer Lotus" is his fifth studio album - and the first on his own label Chinonso Records, produced largely by himself. It is the result of an intensive, personal discovery phase - born out of moments of isolation at the beginning of 2024, carried by soul samples, warm drums and a clear homage to the Golden Era. The most important source of inspiration: RZA and Ghostface Killah from the Wu-Tang Clan, whose drumless beats form the foundation of the album.

"Black Lotus" is a statement:

Against the trend.

Against the need to function.

For integrity and independence.

For art.

It is a work that deserves time and attention - not streaming fodder, but a self-contained concept album.
