Described by Downbeat magazine as "worldly, talented" and praised by The Guardian for their "seductive, genre-hopping creativity",The Vampires are made up of four of Australia's most awarded jazz instrumentalists.

The Vampires have attracted worldwide attention with their distinctive sound, which has been compared to Miles Davis and his album "Bitches Brew" and the Art Ensemble of Chicago: with risk-averse improvisations, sophisticated compositions and an uncanny sense of dialog between the front lines of saxophone and trumpet, the band has developed a style all of its own, effortlessly combining influences from different parts of the world.

Saxophonist Jeremy Rose, trumpeter Nick Garbett, bassist Alex Boneham and drummer Alex Masso have already released six critically acclaimed albums with The Vampires, including the ARIA-nominated "The Vampires Meet Lionel Loueke" together with guitarist Lionel Loueke. On their latest album "Pacifica", released in 2019, they returned to the classic, chordless quartet format to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary: on this album, they combined sounds from different continents and contexts even more than before, further developing their special sound. The Australian band was the first instrumental group ever to be nominated for the Australian Music Prize.

Their seventh album "Nightjar" offers a new perspective on the band's music thanks to the collaboration with pianist and keyboardist Chris Abrahams. Abrahams - a member of the legendary improvisational minimal trio The Necks - brings his sparkling musical approach to the existing dynamics, elevating the band to new heights.
