"Women are constantly told to suppress their desires, whether it's in the boardroom, the bedroom, or beyond. But what happens when we embrace them instead?" - Gillian Anderson
What does it mean to desire - as a woman*, as a body, as a writer? And what exactly do we desire? Security, closeness, freedom, touch, power, or just a different future?
Desire is more than a sexual impulse. It is, as Spinoza writes, an inner urge, a striving for something that sometimes seems impossible. A space of possibility. And yet we* are used to censoring our desire: in everyday patriarchal life, in language, in art.
In the writing workshop, we will explore together how female* desire can be written: wildly, contradictorily, delicately or powerfully. Through writing impulses and exercises, we create space for personal approaches and new perspectives on a topic that usually remains shameful - and therefore needs to find expression.
