Theater-Café - Heilig ist nur der Schein

In the organizer's words:

Everyone knows that money alone doesn't make you happy. However, Josef and Hannes, close friends in their prime, realize that no money doesn't necessarily make them happier either and, against all odds, bet on the big lottery win. It comes late, as money does, if it comes at all. Not too late to remember the dreams they had in their prime, but actually too late to make them come true. However, one sees it differently than the other and so the two, now very old graybeards, fight, wrestle and trick each other.
At first, their sudden wealth brings about more ugliness than good, and both go through the depths of resentment and mistrust, stubbornness and malice, greed and avarice. Their friendship is put to the test. In comic and tragic, evil and loving actions, the insight that Oscar Wilde already shared at the time finally matures: "There are two tragedies in life. One is the non-fulfillment of a heart's desire. The other is its fulfillment. Of the two, the second is by far the more tragic."
