Theater-Pool presents: Trans Sylvania for everyone aged 13 and over

The play will be performed in the studio stage of WERK°STADT Witten on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 6.00 pm. Duration: approx. 100 minutes. Followed by a discussion with the ensemble.

The content
Enzo is sitting in the waiting room of the doctor's surgery waiting for his first hormone treatment. Suddenly his mother Sylvia appears. She and Enzo take us on a journey into our own selves. How do you become yourself? Enzo is trans. The play tells the story of Enzo and his journey to the gender in which he feels right. It also deals with the reactions of those around him, his friends and his mother and why it is not always easy to be yourself. The audience is directly addressed and involved as a co-waiter and thus experiences Enzo's development and transformation, his feelings, longings and doubts at first hand.

The background
The development of the play as part of the project "Die Annen rauf", theaterspiel Witten 2022 on a current and much-discussed topic was initiated, supported and advised by trans* people, relatives and advice centers, resulting from numerous conversations, interviews, collegial advice, test readings and research. Funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (in the NEU-START KULTUR program, Young Audience program line).
