THEATRON 2025: MAIDAVALE, MOUNT HUSH & THEE SHIRTS

In the organizer's words:

The cozy atmosphere and free admission to the THEATRON MUSIKSOMMER have been attracting numerous visitors to the Seebühne stage in the Olympic Park for decades. And the Feierwerk is also back in August with a varied live program, this year even on 14 days. So pack your picnic blankets and enjoy the concerts on the steps in front of the Olympic Lake. You'll have the best view of the stage. You can relax and unpack your snack or enjoy the many stalls on the grounds. We look forward to seeing you!

The acts

MAIDAVALE

Swedish psych wonder MAIDAVALE have been captivating audiences with their spirited energy since they emerged on the Stockholm underground scene a decade ago. The band combines neo-psychedelia and krautrock with influences from post-punk, funkadelia and North African blues.

With their acclaimed debut"Tales of the Wicked West" (2016), they quickly conquered the major European rock scenes and festivals. The more kraut-influenced second album"Madness is too Pure" (2018) confirmed the band's place in the psych-rock scene with its bold and experimental take on the genre, earning them a nomination for the Swedish music award P3 Guld in the rock category, alongside acts such as "Graveyard".

On their third album"Sun Dog" they collaborate with producers Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) and György Barocsai and work with a bigger, bolder and brighter color palette.

MOUNT HUSH

MOUNT HUSH 's album"II" promises a transformative journey through psychedelic soundscapes, taking listeners from lush valleys to jagged peaks. The album builds on the foundation of their debut, but amplifies the raw intensity with a rougher sound recorded in their own studio.

Mixed by Maximilian Wörle and mastered by Dimo Conidas, the album offers a finely tuned but untamed sound.

The album opens with an extended version of their single"All I See". It sets the tone with tremolo-soaked fuzz guitars and haunting vocals."Golden Sun" follows, offering an otherworldly atmosphere that evolves into expansive melodies and a sprawling solo.
"The Hunt" is a krautrock-inspired track that segues into heavy blues, capturing the tension and reward of a tough, yet rewarding journey. The first half ends with"Blues For The Dead", an atmospheric blues piece that culminates in a powerful and haunting finale.

The B-side begins with the energetic, punky"Grey Smoke", driven by relentless drums. The longest track on the album,"Celestial Eyes", already released last year as a single track, shines in new splendor thanks to the refined mix.
"54" begins with a striking riff and unfolds into far-reaching melodies, accompanied by an atmospheric interlude with an extended flute passage.

The album ends with a cathartic, heavy fuzz track and a powerful vocal line that conjures up the image of an apocalyptic world, but gives hope for new beginnings.

THEE SHIRTS

THEE SHIRTS is a surf punk band from Munich that sounds like an ass bomb from a 10 in the middle of summer, a round of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and the 18+ section of a 90s video store - not for wimps! THEE SHIRTS are Felix, Leon and Marcel. Together they form a musical unit that combines melodic elements of surf punk with the brute sound of grunge. One thing is particularly important to them - not to take anything too seriously!

The three musicians' concerts are loud and a little chaotic. With their guitar-heavy bubble grunge, they transform every venue into a steaming laundry room and between the mostly humorous lyrics there is sometimes even a bit of social criticism.
