Founded in Hamburg in 2006, Thirsty Mamas are based on blues rock traditions à la Gary Clark Jr. and Buddy Guy, with rough rock influences in the style of Clutch and dark echoes à la Tom Waits. The band is known for its independent interpretation of the Depeche Mode classic "Personal Jesus". Their sound is characterized by a distinctive voice, characteristic slide guitars, a concise harp and an exceptionally tight interplay of bass and drums.

On stage, Thirsty Mamas convey an intense and authentic atmosphere: Steff Schneider's powerful voice carries the songs with emphasis, while Hans Torlée makes the blues sound raw with his lapsteel and guitar. The bass/drum team Wojtek Manteufel and Mariusz Brede provide a powerful groove that carries the songs. Mike Jaedke's harp sets striking accents. The band engages the audience through their direct approach, visible joy of playing and dynamic interplay. Every performance is characterized by extraordinary enthusiasm and energy. The fans and the band: celebrating together and simply having a good time with good music.
