This, too, is a way of keeping eachotherclose. The exhibition is part of the annual HANDLE [with] CARE program and is dedicated to the question of how we mourn, remember - and care for each other. The focus is on lives and losses that are often overlooked or ignored in public cultures of mourning and remembrance.

The artistic positions draw on queer, anti-colonial and embodied forms of remembrance. They make visible how social power relations determine whose loss is recognized - and whose is not. Grief is not understood here as weakness, but as a resistant practice, as a gesture of care and solidarity.

The works invite visitors not just to watch, but to be touched, to react, to feel. They demand sympathy - in both an emotional and political sense - and open up spaces in which other forms of remembering become possible.

This, too, is a way of keeping each otherclose asks: How can we grieve together? How does care become political? And what does it mean to remember - not just for ourselves, but for each other?
