A storm surge hits the small village of Unterlingen, masses of water force the residents out of their homes - only one remains, as she always has: Gudelia. She stayed in 1984 when her son was murdered, in 1998 when she separated from her husband, and even now when her house threatens to collapse in the floods. Not even the two bound corpses floating past her window can change her mind. Because Gudelia's only thoughts are of her house, which hides her darkest secret.
