Thomas Mann – ein Leseabend mit Michael Schikowski

In the organizer's words:

We are celebrating 150 years of Thomas Mann: together with Michael Schikowski, we are organizing a reading evening to mark the anniversary year. The literary scholar will guide us through Thomas Mann's important work, presenting and reading from the writer's major and minor novels.

For many, the work of Thomas Mann (1875 - 1955) is an unforgettable reading experience, for others he is still to be discovered. Thomas Mann is an author who is wonderfully unconcerned about the time his novels take up. And indeed, with him, novels, like music, are a temporal art. This is not the only reason why Thomas Mann is a defender of the 19th century.

Michael Schikowski works for publishers and bookshops and was a lecturer at the universities of Bonn and Düsseldorf. For several years he has made a name for himself as a reviewer for Deutschlandradio Kultur and with literary readings.
