UKR 2025 - 125 min - OmeU - Director: Kateryna Hornostaj

From March 2023 to June 2024, filmmaker Kateryna Hornostai traveled through eastern, northern and central Ukraine, documenting how teaching continues in the dispossessed areas and near the war zone despite constant danger. The result is Timestamp, a film that shows how war changes not only the perception of the world, but also the concept of normality itself.

The film had its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, where it received a ten-minute standing ovation. One journalist wrote: "Films like this form an important artistic and journalistic archive of ongoing brutality. Taken together, they form a giant wall of tragedy - from which Kateryna Hornostai's film differs somewhat by focusing on young people who hope to one day call this present the past, and those who prepare them for what the future will bring. Of course, there's plenty of devastation in Timestamp, but there's also a bright glimmer of hope that seems effortless and hard-earned."

З березня 2023-го по червень 2024-го режисерка Катерина Горностай їздила Східною, Північною та Центральною Україною, документуючи, як триває навчання в умовах постійної небезпеки на деокупованих територіях і поблизу зони бойових дій. Так народилася "Стрічка часу" - фільм, що показзує, як війна змінює не лише світосприйняття, а й саме поняття нормальності.

Світова прем'єра відбулася на 75-му Берлінському міжнародному кінофестивалі, де фільм зустріли десятихвилинними оваціями. Один із журналістів написав: "Такі фільми створюють важливий художній і журналістський архів триваючої жорстокості. У сукупності вони утворюють величезну стіну трагедії - від якої стрічка Катерини Горностай дещо вирізняється своєю зосередженістю на молодих людях, які сподіваються колись назвати це сьогодення минулим, і тих, хто готує їх до будь-якого майбутнього. Звісно, у "Стрічці часу" є багато спустошення, але також яскравий промінь надії, який здається невимушеним і важко заробленим".
