Tischlein Denk Dich - Welchen Einfluss haben soziale Medien auf politische Meinung?

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

In August, we will be guests at the beautiful Goethe Exil in Hanover with the Tischlein Denk Dich format. We combine a cozy dinner at a large table with discussions on current topics and carefully considered rules of the game. The evening starts at a large table with 20 people with a moderated discussion round. Then it's time to eat: a delicious dinner, during which we discuss the topics in more depth. This time the question is: What influence do social media have on political opinion?

About the format:

One of our tasks as a playing field is to promote and practise a culture of discussion. To bring people together who otherwise have little contact with each other and to strengthen social cohesion. But how does that work? In our view, Tischlein Denk Dich is one of many steps in precisely this direction.

It is important to us that political education can also be fun and energizing. Our aim is for you to go home motivated and with new ideas after an enjoyable evening. Are you still unsure? At Tischlein Denk Dich, we focus on topics that everyone can say something about. So you don't have to be an expert, you just need to bring curiosity and interest - we'll take care of everything else.

Topic of the evening: What influence does social media have on political opinion?

Together with you, we would like to talk about questions such as

  • What added value does social media have for political and social issues?
  • Who has a big influence on your political opinion?
  • Do you see perspectives and posts on platforms like Insta that would otherwise remain hidden from you?
  • Do you see political influences or changes in your environment through social media?

Procedure:

We start with a short round of introductions. The moderator then asks questions to which everyone can respond. Each question is limited to 60 seconds, a stopwatch keeps track of the time. If you like, you can write down your thoughts on the table paper.

We then move on to dinner together. The discussion now becomes more open - instead of the large group, participants can talk to the people sitting next to them in smaller groups. As an additional stimulus, each person receives an individually formulated question that provides new food for thought and stimulates further exciting conversations.

A short reflection round provides space for final thoughts and a joint review of the evening.

Goethe Exile

Laboratory, platform, creative think tank. Founded in 2016 as a young artist's studio, photographers work at GoetheExil to realize their visual ideas. A variety of projects and contemporary art and cultural events take place in the hall of an old factory in Hanover. Through work shows, audiovisual screenings, performances, concerts and discussions, the members of GoetheExil have created a social and physical space that attempts to facilitate a sustainable and authentic dialog between cultural workers, artists and committed people and has established itself as an important point of reference for photography in Hanover.
