In the organizer's words:

The author Nina Kiedrowicz reads from her collection of stories "to reject silence". The stories in this collection deal with sexualized violence, although the focus is not primarily on the acts (or the perpetrators), but on the implications they have for those affected, especially in their social relationships. From different perspectives, the texts shed light on how violence continues and goes far beyond the actual event. They painfully reveal the inability of our society to deal with sexualized violence and those affected by it.

About the author

Born and raised in the Ruhr area in 1992, Nina Kiedrowicz studied literature and urban research at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She has been working as a freelance author and artist since 2021. In her work, she focuses on perspectives and narratives that are often rarely heard or given space in public discourse. In addition to her own literary writing, she also works in self-designed, publicly funded projects with different people and target groups on the subject of biography work. Nina Kiedrowicz lives in Berlin and Essen.
