The Tölzer Knabenchor, founded by Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden in Bad Tölz in 1956, has been one of the most famous and sought-after boys' choirs in the world for over six decades and performs more than 130 concerts and operas worldwide every year.

The choir's repertoire covers all areas of choral literature from the Baroque to the present day, with a particular focus on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Soloists from the Tölz Boys' Choir take on the important boys' roles in the world's famous opera houses.

Around 120 boys are currently being taught both choral and individual voice training by the Tölzer Knabenchor in the greater Munich area. The unmistakably powerful and flexible sound of the choir is created in several stages of training.

In addition to alpine songs, the Tölzer Knabenchor also presents many of the most beautiful Christmas songs from all over the world. The program of Advent and Christmas songs promises an entertaining concert evening that will get the audience in the mood for the "staade Zeit".
