With his unique blend of profound indie folk, cinematic pop and emotional depth, Scottish musician Tommy Ashby has firmly established himself on the international singer-songwriter scene in recent years. In 2025, he will finally be bringing his new album Mantis to the stage live - and will be stopping off in Germany for two exclusive concerts: on November 20, 2025 in Cologne and on November 29, 2025 in Berlin.

Ashby's music thrives on contrasts: warmth and fragility, vastness and intimacy. His songs - known from series such as Grey's Anatomy, Love Island or The Innocents - tell of closeness, loss, light and shadow. Sometimes quiet and reduced, then again carried by dense, atmospheric soundscapes that also reflect his scientific exploration of sound spaces and psychoacoustic perception. Ashby is not only a musician, but also a doctoral researcher in the field of spatial sound.

He has been supported for years by Grammy-winning producer Sam Okell, which keeps his sound at the highest level both technically and emotionally. With Mantis, his second studio album after the acclaimed debut Lamplighter (2023), Ashby deals with the fragility of interpersonal relationships - inspired by the symbolism of the praying mantis: vulnerable and yet fascinating. His current single "Liar Liar" combines folky melancholy with catchy pop energy and shows where the artist is heading stylistically.
