On June 29 at 6 pm, the MARKK Museum will be the venue for an extraordinary segment concert as part of the TONALi Festival, conducted by Elena Bechter (soprano) and Tabea Wink (flute).
In an artistic dialog, classical and electronic music, dance, spoken word and traditional Jewish melodies merge into an interactive performance.
Interviewed voices from the neighborhood are heard and are part of the overall artistic concept.
The evening sees itself as a tribute to the living culture of remembrance and places the historical heritage of the Grindel district in relation to its current diversity and visionary future.
The quarter as a place of transformation: from the scene of Jewish life and cultural destruction to today's debate on science, art and remembrance to a space of diversity, community and freedom.
- Note: The concert is the result of the first year of training at the TONALi Stage Academy and provides insights into the academy students' processes. As part of the training, professional musicians (20-30 years old) are given the task of using the artistic potential of students and residents of the Kunstschutzgebiet and working with them to create a festival concert that reflects the polyphony and diversity of those involved.
