The course takes place on four consecutive Thursdays in June.

It starts on 05.06., followed by 12.06. and 19.06. and the last date is 26.06.

You will have 3.5 hours per evening. The start is always at 5.30 pm.

You can attend an additional glaze course afterwards (the fees for the glaze course are included).

In this exclusive master class, Tanja from The Clay Company shares her experience from 8 years of pottery practice and shows you how to master large-scale throwing with lots of clay. She specializes in this technique and wants to help you make centering large quantities of clay easier and more efficient. You will receive valuable tips from a professional as well as practical support in all aspects of turning and centering. Together you will work on improving your skills and taking your technique to the next level.

Course content

Day 1 - Status check & making your first pieces
On the first evening, you will take a look at your current status, discuss any problems and challenges and Tanja will answer any open questions. She will show you how to make your first pieces and answer your specific questions so that you can get the best out of your technique right from the start.

Day 2 - Shooting the same things
On the second evening, you will focus on the topic of "turning the same things". You choose a shape that you will look at together. You practise turning the same thing, which will help you to achieve consistent and repeatable results. Tanja will show you how to refine your technique to create consistent pieces.

Day 3 - Turning different shapes
This evening is all about the variety of shapes. Tanja will show you how she turns bowls, plates, vases and other shapes. You will have the opportunity to work on one shape or try out several to develop your skills and learn new techniques.

Day 4 - Refinement and "turn what is given"
On the last evening, you will address open questions and refine the techniques you have learned. You conclude the course with the special: " Turn what is given". Here you will turn a shape according to given parameters and learn how to apply your technique flexibly and precisely, even under given conditions.

All pieces are food-safe. The firing of 3 pieces of your choice is included.

Price information:

560 € p.p. for a total of 14 hours over 4 days + optional approx. 1.5 hour glazing workshop. The separate glazing workshop is included in the price.
