Tors

In the organizer's words:

Tors play four concerts in Germany!

Presented by Sounds & Books

A childhood in idyllic Devon, surrounded by moors and national parks - that doesn't necessarily sound like the classic career path for a band. But it was precisely from this natural environment that Tors drew their creative energy and launched an impressive career in the British indie scene.
Tors consists of brothers Matt (vocals) and Theo Weedon (guitar), as well as drummer Jack Bowden, whom they found through a newspaper advertisement. Music is in the brothers' blood: their grandfather Bert Weedon once toured the country with legends such as Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. In the 1950s, he wrote the guitar instruction book "Play In A Day", which sold millions of copies - and taught Brian May, the Beatles and Eric Clapton, among others, how to play the guitar. Thanks to their grandfather, their family home was a meeting place for rock stars - so it's no wonder that Matt and Theo wanted to follow in those footsteps.
However, they initially took different paths - Matt composed music for series and fronted an indie band, while Theo performed in a comedy duo and studied screenwriting. But they continued to bond over music and wrote songs together every spare minute they had. After successes as songwriters for artists such as Dean Lewis and Declan J Donovan, it was clear that it was time for their own band. With Jack Bowden, the trio was complete, and Tors was born - named after the typical rock formations of their homeland.
Their debut single "Hold Me" was released in 2016, and its powerful indie folk sound quickly found a large fan base. The debut EP "Wilder Days" followed in 2018, on which they further developed their unmistakable style - catchy choruses, touching lyrics and spherical harmonies. After "Colour In The Ordinary" (2022), their third EP "Anything Can Happen" was their final breakthrough in 2023: millions celebrated the eponymous song on TikTok, and the EP won over critics and fans alike. The subsequent first European and UK tour was a complete success - they had already gained live experience supporting the likes of James Blunt, Sam Ryder, Tom Walker and Walking on Cars.
Signing to the Glassnote Music label, the EPs "Miracle" (2024) and "Never Give Up" (2025) followed, on which Tors refined their characteristic indie-folk sound. To celebrate this, Tors are embarking on a major European tour this fall - with four stops in Germany! If you like handmade indie folk, these concerts are definitely not to be missed.
