The big film tour from the Alps makes a stop in Munich.

Five films. Five stories.

The Alpen Film Festival 2025 brings five outstanding mountain films to Königsplatz - under the motto "Borderless": stories about people who overcome borders - geographical, social, personal.

Curated by Tom Dauer, moderated by real mountain people like festival founder Sandra Freudenberg. With them: Simon Gietl, Caja Schöpf, Elisa Deutschmann.

The Alpen Film Festival stands for living values from the mountains:

PROGRAMME

45 DAYS - Sensing the Polar Night
by Caja Schöpf & Andreas Hartmann
Language: English, Norwegian with subtitles

A winter-loving mountaineer wonders what it is like to live without sun for 45 days. To find answers, she travels to Tromsø in northern Norway - 350 km north of the Arctic Circle - and encounters pure joie de vivre.
Caja Schöpf, psychologist and former Freeski World Cup skier, meets people who think about light in a completely different way - and makes a deep impression.

MERU - The Ascent of the Goldfish

After weeks of ups and downs, three climbers reach the key point of their first ascent in the Garhwal Himalayas. Just below the summit, a few meters decide between success and failure.
On the legendary Meru, they take on a challenging project with the 800 m long "Goldfish" route - technically (M6+, A1) and emotionally a balancing act of life and death.

On the steep slope

Valentin Innerhofer and Judith Stötter run the South Tyrolean Oberhaushof farm with sustainability in mind - because "the farm is much bigger than what we can see with our eyes".
Between self-sufficiency and Michelin-starred cuisine, they live a quiet resistance to consumption and acceleration - a portrait of modern home.

A Journey 2 Mont Blanc

Two young women cycle from South Tyrol to Mont Blanc in order to paraglide from the summit. Their journey proves to be not only a physical but also an emotional challenge.
As influencers, they not only experience the thrill of the heights along the way, but also the tension between real adventure and public expectation.

Hungry Gravity

Language: Bavarian English with subtitles

The Bavarian full-time action camper Bernhard Braun initially confesses that he has nothing to tell - and then does just that in a way that is as subtle as it is humorous.
With subtle self-irony, he takes aim at the narrative compulsion of the ski film scene and delivers a wonderfully decelerated counterpart to the epic summit drama.
