Teenage Marija spends the summer with her grandmother in an industrial area in the Lithuanian hinterland. She is quickly bullied because of her walking difficulties and gets into a fight with Kristina, a girl of the same age who - like many other girls in this remote area - attends a modeling school. Marija soon joins the cult-like institution. With the prospect of a career in the fashion industry, feelings of self-hatred are normalized here and eating disorders are the order of the day. As an intimate friendship develops between Marija and Kristina, the girls fall into an accelerating spiral in which they abuse their bodies in extreme ways.
