You can see from the containers that they have been around:
on construction sites, in parking lots, in industrial areas and on remote gravel lots in the suburbs.

When the parents' apartment is nothing but garbage, when the rubble has to be removed from the house, when space has to be made for something new. There they are in the city, the red, blue, yellow, green, white, orange and purple bins between the gray of the middle-class cars. The metal containers for the inevitable changes - in their various colors, shapes and sizes.

The painter Tomasz Thun, who grew up in Herne, knows life and understands how to read and depict the subtle signs of our times and society.
