transitory monument

In the organizer's words:

1595, Westphalia: Mümmel-Elsken is accused of being a witch and responsible for the death of the farmhand Mangelmann. Perhaps she also used her evil eye to milk some farmer's cow? Or caused the premature death of children? Did she give a woman contraceptives?

The audio walk performance "transitory monument" brings together the local history of witch-hunts with the feminist interpretation and historical significance of European witch-hunts. Author, performer and director Nicola Schubert and scenographer Theresa Mielich present a scenic docu-fiction in a combination of drama and physical theater with the medium of radio play/audio walk. The audience is given radio headphones and accompanies the performer around the square.
