Humans shed around five million tears in the course of their lives, about 80 liters, half a bathtub full. But tears are only a small, visible part of the grieving process. A process of dealing with life's changes, of reassembling the image of oneself. We stumble over memories that we have already forgotten. We stumble over our own bodies. How do sadness and comfort combine? Where does the anger over a loss sit and how do we come to accept it? When something disappears, have we really lost it or just misplaced the memory of it?

Under the direction of Dana Khamis and Judith Niggehoff, the young people of POLYLUX use language, dance and performance to search for a collective way to confront grief and find something moving in it. POLYLUX is Schauspiel Köln's youth club for young people between the ages of 13 and 18 and is presenting its fourth stage production with TRAUER//FALL.
