TREFFEN 2025 - Rebecca Spilker & Juliane Streich

Presented by Ventil Verlag. Rebecca Spilker and Juliane Streich read from texts about feminist pop icons, misogynistic suds and fashionable escapades, combining eclectic insights with malicious wit.

Rebecca Spilker:

Rebecca Spilker, born in Hamburg in 1968. Kindergarten, elementary school, grammar school, A-levels, briefly went to university. Bustled around, worked, wrote, sang (Margot Honecker song group). Had two children, got married in between. Annoyed and enthusiastic. Developed strong opinions. Writes for Musikexpress, Konkret, taz, Kaput Magazin and online.

Juliane Streich:

Juliane Streich was born in Berlin in 1983, followed by a big city childhood with an allotment and an adolescence between punk and pop. She then studied twice: cultural studies in Frankfurt/Oder and journalism in Leipzig. For ten years, she was head of the music editorial department of the Leipzig city magazine "kreuzer" (supposedly the best in Germany), works in the online editorial department at MDR Kultur and writes about music, culture and society as a freelance author. She leads a life as a lo-fi bohemian and has been planning to form a punk band for twenty years (which won't work because you don't plan punk band formations).

TREFFEN 2025:

Musik-TREFFEN Hamburg is an underground indoor festival and will take place for the second time in September 2025. TREFFEN aims to showcase Hamburg's independent music scene during the Reeperbahn Festival.

After a one-day kick-off in 2024, TREFFEN will grow and the program will be musically broader:

Eight events will each be curated by participating Hamburg indie labels; for three further events, labels will collaborate in the curation (Bureau B & Pingipung / Sounds of Subterrannea & Zeitstrafe / Rookie & Rilrec).

Ventil Verlag is organizing three readings.
