The French trio Wanderer amazes with its selection of works, demonstrating its unconventional and deeply musical excellence. With their program, the musicians not only build a bridge from Romanticism to Modernism, but also between two musical worlds.
In addition to the 'E flat major Trio' by Franz Schubert, a work of overwhelming depth, melancholy and hope, the program includes the piano trio by the founder of American modernism, Charles Ives. A kind of musical puzzle that resembles a conversation between three good friends, but in which each speaks a different language: a work full of fascinating breaks and harmonies.
The three musicians in the trio are enthusiastic, imaginative and open-minded musical travelers through the worlds of Mozart and Haydn right up to the present day. With their fine, sensitive style, their technical mastery and their almost telepathic understanding of each other, they are among the world's leading chamber music ensembles.
