With "TROPICAL BIRDS", the versatile spectrum of tropical music finds a new nest in the Knust. We kick things off on September 5 with the legendary BACAO RHYTHM & STEEL BAND, PEKI MOMÉS and our beloved CUMBIA IM VIERTEL CREW.

BACAO RHYTHM & STEEL BAND
With their combination of tropical steel, funk, soul and hip hop, the mysterious steel pan group from Hamburg has built up a cult following over the last ten years.
After falling in love with the Trinidadian instrument while traveling, musician and bandleader Bjorn Wagner's fascination grew into four impressive albums over the past seven years.
With over 300,000 Spotify followers, the band has transformed classics like "Love Like This" by Faith Evan into an unmistakable throwback sound. Together with the tropical sounds of the Caribbean steel pans and the excellent production, the result is a musical feast that is second to none.

PEKI MOMÉS
Peki Momés, a Turkish artist who has always had a creative output, but only started recording music by chance in 2023. With no prior training, Peki Momés brings a stylish, fresh perspective to groove music, combining her vocals with a unique blend of intuition and uncompromising authenticity. Her music is best described as Turkish psychedelic, but also embraces electronic influences from the global underground such as Japanese city pop, tropical funk and international disco.

CUMBIA IN THE QUARTER CREW
Our favorite cumbia crew are masters of their craft and accompany our first "TROPICAL BIRDS" with a wide spectrum of tropical music, from cumbia to tropical bass, and ensure a tropical party night.
