The funk and soul band TRUE LOVES from Seattle combines influences from jazz, funk, soul and R&B to create modern soul music that never loses sight of its origins, but still strives unwaveringly for something new. They sound so gorgeously relaxed, as if they were playing at a block party in your favorite neighborhood. And of course: the sun is shining and your favorite friends are all there too. The secret? There is no secret, they just love making great music.

What began in 2014 as a jam session between three of Seattle's finest musicians - pocket drummer David McGraw, infectious bassist Bryant Moore and the almost otherworldly guitarist Jimmy James - has now developed into a global force that also includes drummer Iván Galvez, trombonist Greg Kramer and saxophonists Gordon Brown and Skerik. All of them are experienced musicians who are modestly larger than life when playing together and especially live. Maybe that's why KEXP calls them "simply one of the best bands from Seattle".
