Taroug:
Taroug is the solo project by drummer and electronic music producer Tarek Zarroug.
With roots in the suburbs of the Tunisian desert and having grown up in Germany, Taroug's music seamlessly blends together disparate elements to create a cohesive whole, with pulsating rhythms of organic electronic drums fusing with an array of rare and exotic instruments from around the world, along with field recordings, analog synthesizers and hypnotic vocals, to transport listeners to a world both strange and comforting.
Following the release of his 2020 EP, "Perpetual," as well as a number of notable remixes for artists such as Archive, Taroug has continued to refine his musical aesthetic. This has led to a collaboration with Denovali Records for the release of his debut album.
baerk.:
baerk. is a chindo-german musician, producer, and
interdisciplinary artist based in Berlin. In his music, he
combines raw electronic and experimental approaches
from IDM, experimental, deconstructed club and trip-hop
with a zeitgeist hyper-infused sound design. His themes
range from the inner conflicts of biculturalism to the
alienating feelings between humans and machines and
the merging to transhumanism.
Drawn to the latest possibilities of sound design, baerk.
experiments extensively with (re-)sampling and the sonic
potentials of AI and neural synthesis.
He has already left his marks as a solo singer/songwriter,
as part of the electronica collective HAIÓN, and as the
singer of the German experimental electronica band
MAHENDRA, with whom he toured clubs and festivals
across Germany, including Habitat Festival, Rocken Am Brocken, and the Fuchsbau Festival.
Additionally, as baerk., he has performed concerts in Poland, Norway, and Indonesia.
