As part of the Kunstareal-Fest 2025, the TUM Center for Culture and Arts, together with the TUM School of Medicine and Health, offers free activities to participate, experience and discuss.
UBUNTU describes an African philosophy of life of humanity, charity and community. However, our society is often divided into pigeonholes and categories that separate us instead of connecting us. Trapped in the daily grind and uniform routines, the longing for encounters and genuine connection grows. The choreography UBUNTU sets out in search of human togetherness - between conformity and diversity, heteronomy and self-determination. It tells of the realization that we are all connected to each other as part of a greater whole and that it is only in this connectedness that we become human and make each other more human.
The "Community Dance" project week invites TUM students from a wide range of disciplines to come together artistically as dancers in a dance company. In this new social space, participants can playfully explore their own abilities, creatively open up new horizons and experience community, responsibility and appreciation through dance collaboration with others. Creating a professional choreography in just 6 days of rehearsals requires immense courage, stamina, team spirit, creativity and discipline from the dancers. Even if most of them have never or only little performance experience, they will show in the Rotunda of the Pinakothek der Moderne what is possible when everyone gives their best for the common goal.
