Princess Turandot's riddles spread fear and terror. Turandot has sworn to marry only the man who knows how to solve three riddles. Anyone who confronts the riddles and fails to provide the answers will be beheaded that very night. Countless princes have already been attracted by Turandot's legendary beauty and lost their lives. For no one has ever been able to solve the riddles of the mysterious Turandot. Calaf, a prince from Tataria on the run, also falls for her beauty, signs up for the test and knows the right answers to all three questions. But instead of triumphing over Turandot, he now sets her a riddle himself: she must find out his name within one night. This proves impossible even for the powerful princess, yet the solution to all the questions is so close at hand.
