Silvana Strauss:
Raised on German radio big bands, punk rock and golden age hip-hop classics, Strauss' journey from budding session drummer to the latest newcomer in a thriving global roster of jazz agitators is one of discovery and community. Born in Kempten, southern Germany, Strauss played drums as a toddler on everything he could get his hands on. In between rehearsals with the Bavarian State Youth Jazz Orchestra, Strauss produced beats and alternated between punk and hip-hop bands until he finished school, before moving north to study at the Hamburg Musikhochschule. Regular gigs as a sideman with Portuguese singer Maria João and trombonist Nils Landgren followed (which continue to this day), and alongside his work in jazz/neo-soul quartet ToyToy, it was his immersion in Hamburg's live music scene that led to him being chosen as the winner of the 2021 Hamburg Jazz Prize, a prestigious award given by the city's fellow musicians, and laid the foundations for Strauss' debut album.

Bricknasty:
Originally formed from a chance encounter on Soundcloud between frontman/guitarist Fatboy and producer Cillian McCauley, Bricknasty has evolved into a full-fledged band with the addition of Dara Abdurahman (bass), Korey Thomas (drums) and Louis Younge (saxophone/keys). From infectious energy and soulful chords to smooth, booming vocals, together Bricknasty's music effortlessly traverses RnB, neo soul, jazz and psych, citing influences such as D'Angelo, MF Doom and Timbaland. As the members have blossomed, so have their songs, with each individual contributing to both the existing demos and the broader structure of the collective's identity and vision. Their obvious harmony and musical synchronicity as a band also extends to their live shows, which have generated a wave of word of mouth in Dublin and beyond.
