DIY enthusiasts are a special breed. They repair the pipes they stand on and don't always have all the freshly painted slats on the fence. On Saturdays, they go in droves to pilgrimage sites with strange names like Toom or OBI and buy tools that they can afford but can barely use. And then happily return to their hobby cellars. "Herr der Zwinge" is a song of praise for optimistic people who grind instead of grumble, build instead of complain, do instead of grumble.
