umbra + Flittern & Ryko -J @Helios37

In the organizer's words:

Cologne-based indie rock band "umbra" will be playing their biggest show this year at Helios37. Handmade music about the big and small issues of life - the climate crisis, the social shift to the right, but also about "being there for each other" and moments of longing. All of this wrapped up in an indie rock sound based on an international model, where warm bass lines, shimmering guitars and real, powerful drums meet. Music to shout along to and listen to, to dance to and dream to, for the mosh pit and the soul!

The Cologne duo "Flittern", who combine their punk socialization with contemporary pop and play songs from their self-titled album live, will also be there. They package their critical and also pleasantly self-critical lyrics in a grown-up version of pop-punk with a lot of distortion and a pinch of autotune.

Essen-based rapper and singer "Ryko-J" will also be presenting his version of pop-punk, in which his raspy voice is combined with pop melodies and honest lyrics to create a very personal style. Enriched with modern rock & pop elements and his strengths from earlier rap years, Ryko-J has found his musical identity and brings it to the stage at Helios37 together with his band.
