Performing "Nell' Ora Blu"
Always known for their banging concept albums, the doom metal and psychedelic rock band Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats have now been inspired by the Italian Giallo film movement and have created an album that has never been heard before in the band's history. 19 Italian tracks, summarized in Uncle Acid's interpretation of the soundtrack of the Italian underground film, make up the album "Nell' Ora Blu", which means "the blue hour" in German. Easy listening is not exactly what the band from Cambridge, Great Britain, has been making waves with for 15 years and also in their current work, and in the best sense of the word: with an intangible mixture of classic doom, psychedelia and garage rock, the group around frontman Kevin Starrs tells the story of love and murder in Italy in the 1970s between vibrating bass, psychedelic compositions and synth-heavy passages. Instrumental pieces are combined with spoken passages by Italian actors and organically complement the sprawling rock pieces on Uncle Acid & TheDeadbeats' new concept album. In January 2025, the band will inaugurate "Nell' Ora Blu" on the live stage on two selected evenings in Berlin and provide a unique listening experience.
