Older fans of the series may still remember animal film gems such as "The Desert Lives", in which Disney created a humorously commented monument to animal heroes big and small. Disney+ all-purpose weapon Ryan Reynolds now seems to be heading in a similar direction, no longer just as Deadpool or soccer club owner, but also as an animal documentary commentator. With his humorous and self-deprecating tone, however, he also fits in perfectly with the format of the new National Geographic series "Underdogs", which shines a hilarious spotlight on those animal inhabitants of the earth who tend to be overlooked. Tricky "underdogs" who, thanks to their shrewd nature, are suitable as real identification figures. And as a projection screen for that very special Reynolds humor,
which is best enjoyed in the original - and on the big screen.
