Thomas Otten, Sebastian Ristow and Ruth Stinnesbeck provide information about the two UNESCO sites at the early Christian baptismal font of the Cologne Cathedral excavation. As last year, MiQua and the cathedral excavation will once again be celebrating UNESCO World Heritage Day together on Sunday, June 1, 2024, from 11:00-16:00.
The World Heritage Sites of Cologne Cathedral and the Roman Praetorium as part of the Lower Germanic Limes will be presented in the modern anteroom of the early Christian baptistery. On this special day, visitors can admire the otherwise closed early Christian baptistery up close. Interested and curious visitors can immerse themselves in Roman Cologne via reconstructions and films, take part in guided tours and find out all about Cologne's prominent World Heritage sites as well as the current status of the MiQua museum project.
Thomas Otten and Sebastian Ristow will guide you from the World Heritage Site Cologne Cathedral to the World Heritage Site Praetorium and the MiQua, which is currently under construction. The guided tours of MiQua start at 12 noon, 2 pm and 4 pm at the Baptistery (below the cathedral choir).
The tours are free of charge and limited to 20 people. Registration is requested at: miqua@lvr.de.
