An expansive sound production by Dimitri de Perrot

Listening connects. Listening takes time. In UNTER UNS, the audience explores the hidden worlds of the ground as a living treasure in an experimental theatrical experience through deep listening. The scenography consists of an inflatable shell that takes up the entire performance space and makes the outside world disappear. Inside the shell, visitors encounter an expansive, sounding and shaking floor.

As a giant musical instrument, this space invites you to lie down and listen to it. Those who do so are immersed in a dynamic resonating space of sounds and noises that can be freely associated with the earth, the ground or the subsoil: with the rumbling depths and treasures of the earth as well as the living surface on which countless living creatures leave their traces every day.

The Mannheim adaptation of UNTER UNS at EinTanzHaus is part of the "Trotzdem" project. "Trotzdem" is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the City of Mannheim and the Wüstenrot Foundation.

This event is part of: "The 1920s in Mannheim": Numerous Mannheim institutions are taking the exhibition "Die Neue Sachlichkeit - Ein Jahrhundertjubiläum" at the Kunsthalle Mannheim as an opportunity to offer events under the motto "The 1920s in Mannheim" from September 1, 2024 to March 9, 2025. The spectrum ranges from exhibitions, concerts and readings to theater, opera, film, guided tours, lectures, symposia and parties.
