UnterFremden 2.0

In the organizer's words:

A lively play about xenophobia and togetherness.

The stage as a refugee shelter. Gigi from Iran and Oleksandra from a Ukrainian village get to know each other in a shelter. Stefan from Erftstadt, who had to leave his parents' house because of the flood disaster, works here. All three recount the odyssey of their escape from their home village: Oleksandra about her imprisonment in Russia, Gigi about her escape via Azerbaijan and Stefan about his terrible stay in Knappsack. However, Stefan also comes into contact with right-wing extremist circles in Cologne who want to instrumentalize him. His friendship with Gigi and Oleksandra makes him doubt. Then an attack happens...

UnterFremden 2.0 is a production for adults and young people aged 12 and over that addresses the issue of refugees from various war and crisis regions and thus follows on from the 2015 production UNTERFREMDEN. The focus is on the current situation of people seeking protection, which has taken on a new dimension with the arrival of refugees from Ukraine.
