Urban Sketching

Get outside!

Have you noticed groups or individuals drawing in their sketchbooks in public in recent years? They were probably urban sketchers!

Urban sketching is a movement for more mindfulness and slowing down. Some people draw around their vacation as a travel diary, because the memories of the day are so much more present than a quick photo on a cell phone. But you can also sketch in your hometown, you can focus so intensively on the place where you spend most of your time and give your full attention to the here and now!

Drawing outside on your own is often - and especially for beginners - a big challenge. This step is much easier in the protected space of a group.

This workshop lasts 4 hours: in the first hour we are together in the workshop and work on the basic techniques for the preliminary drawing - i.e. the basic structure of our sketch. Then we will go outside together to try out what we have learned and create an urban sketch. On the way, we will show you the possibilities for coloring with watercolor and markers as well as tips for designing on the page.

• All materials. If you already have your own sketchbook or other materials, feel free to bring them along.
