Urban Wedding Duo

In the organizer's words:

The duo with Roman Babik and Dimitrij Markitantov released their first CD, "White Russian", 17 years ago. Their long history together also tells their musical story between East and West. Precise modern jazz, folkloric melancholy and pulsating rhythms are the common denominator!
Her music has a lightness that always arises when there is no obstacle in the way of expression. What is important here is her ability to subordinate herself to the simplicity of a melody, the urgency of an emotion or the straightforwardness of a rhythm. The art of leaving out the unnecessary notes in order to lose themselves all the more in the right place unites the duo in a wonderful way. The combination of western harmonies and contrapuntal constructs with the natural flow of Balkan music is certainly nothing new.
However, the musicians' attachment to the music of their homeland and the concept of searching for ways of expression across genres allow jazz and folk music to merge without seeming contrived.
