When the Berlin Wall came down 35 years ago, their names on both sides of the Iron Curtain stood not only for German jazz at its best, but also for a boundless artistic curiosity that continues unabated to this day: Uschi Brüning, who caused a sensation as a legendary jazz singer and repeatedly indulged in detours into chanson, pop, soul and blues; and Günther Fischer, who became an all-German institution as an immensely productive jazz musician, song, theater and film composer. Now the two lively musical legends and the film orchestra will bring back memories of the unforgotten "Manne" Krug as well as reminiscences of great cinema and musical moments.
