"Die Zeitreisende" is based on Ute Lemper's newly published autobiography and is musically accompanied by songs from her new album "Time Traveler". She tells of the six decades of her life on stage in front of and behind the curtain, of over 40 years of music creations and theater experiences between Berlin, Paris, London, New York and the whole world. Ute takes us on a musical and poetic journey through time, from Weimar to Berlin, Paris, London, New York and Buenos Aires, touching places and cultures all over the world. "The Time Traveler" is a mosaic that reflects Ute's life in different moments and eras, with memories, music and anecdotes. In addition to pieces by Weill, Piazzolla, Brel, Kander, Gershwin, Waits and Alberstein, the program also includes her own compositions. Ute Lemper has written songs inspired by texts by Bukowski, Neruda and Coelho, to name but a few. Her more recent compositions in particular reflect her feeling of being a "time traveler". "Sometimes music and dreams are more beautiful than reality."
Ute has always reflected on her origins and her responsibility as a German artist in the world. "Lemper tells of her great, small and quiet successes, but above all of her realizations, losses, perceptions and encounters with inspiring people." A poetic evening in music and words and with a lot of emotion, which at the same time reflects the parallel contemporary events of a rapidly changing world.
