Wet plate photography, a process dating back to the 19th century, combines light, chemistry and craftsmanship to create a magical experience. In an elaborate, artisanal process, immediate images are created for eternity. Matthias Weikamm uses this historic technique to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces with unmistakable depth. The exhibition shows intensely tangible portraits and invites visitors to experience the process live - a return to the beginnings of photography.
