What does it mean to repair conditions - beyond broken appliances, loose screws and torn seams? In their book Repairing Circumstances, Melanie Jaeger-Erben and Sabine Hielscher look into the hidden spaces of everyday life: workshops, storerooms, storage rooms. They show how material arrangements, places and tools not only enable things to be repaired, but also "doing value" - the emergence of meaning, relationships and values in the interplay of bodies, things and spaces.

The event invites you to think about this together: How do places shape our actions? How do material infrastructures affect social practices? And what does it mean not only to criticize production and consumption relations, but to actually work on them?
