VERHANDELBAR – UNTER EINSCHLUSS DER ÖFFENTLICHKEIT

In the organizer's words:

With a temporary exhibition, the VerhandelBar discusses stories of appropriation and the potential for repurposing in Munich.

Starting with the Munich Criminal Justice Center, which is threatened with demolition and whose 54,000 square meters of floor space is seen as having the potential to solve pressing issues such as the housing shortage and climate crisis, urban society is called upon to imagine new uses for the building.

In addition to the Justice Center, the exhibition regularly presents other buildings in Munich affected by demolition and vacancy, which illustrate the extent of the problem. In order to communicate a discourse on the spatial potential of the buildings, the city and the possible transformation to a broad public, the temporary exhibition provides information on the topics of climate and environment, building culture and building fabric as well as civic engagement and local needs.

On July 25, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition with Antonia Prohammer from the initiative JustizzentrumErhalten/ AbbrechenAbbrechen. Further guided tours on request.
